Front-end Developer

Creative Front-end Developer in the Studio producing everything you see on WeTransfer and its affiliated platforms.

About The Studio

At the WeTransfer Studio, we produce everything that runs on WeTransfer and its affiliated platforms. This means we improve client material, create marketing concepts, build advertising campaigns, create new, inspiring microsites and interactive projects for an impressive, global list of clients, artists and brands, (such as FKA twigs, Nike, Mini, Gilles Peterson, Samsung, Netflix, Kamasi Washington, Rankin and Nelly Ben Hayoun) each with their own wishes. Additionally, these teams work on the positioning of our products and Plus offering, both inside and outside of our ecosystem.

We have been the forerunners of fullscreen creatives ever since we started, and continue to push the limits and norms to the next level, always putting visual quality before anything else.

The role

We are looking for a front-end developer to create even higher quality products. With the growing need for more interactive, responsive microsites and creatives, you will have to be able to turn around creative briefs rapidly and provide good insights into the feasibility of upcoming projects. You will be working closely with the rest of the studio, but have full responsibility for your own executions.
We are always looking for the best visual execution, but have to deliver performing creatives when it comes to engagement and conversion, so it's ideal if you know what increases this.
You take pride in making sure end results look and feel great, are perfectly executed, but are aware of what increases user engagement and conversion.
You have excellent skills in HTML/CSS/Javascript, notable experience with animations and image optimization, knowledge of trackers and ad-serving is a big plus.

You are looking to:

  • Prove online executions can be more than the current status quo.
  • Create exciting, quality focussed creatives and products.
  • Explore and create new possibilities within the digital realm.

We want people who:

  • Are trained and highly skilled in front-end web development.
  • Engage both colleagues and clients, and challenge existing ways of working.
  • Come up with new ideas and solutions.
  • Enjoy cooperating in diverse teams.
  • Have the ability to adapt to fast changes, a great team spirit, and strong work ethic.
  • Are eager to learn, unlearn, and relearn.
  • Have a proficient English vocabulary and are based in or near Amsterdam.

We offer:

  • A great experience in a business that is rapidly growing and always changing.
  • A high degree of creative freedom.
  • Brilliant team energy in the heart of Amsterdam.
  • Competitive wages and benefits,

Make sure to include either your portfolio or website in your application. We like to see your work!

About us

WeTransfer is the simplest way to send your files around the world. Founded in 2009, we have shown rapid, viral growth over the last 4 years and recently achieved another milestone with over 100 million users sending over a billion transfers per month. In addition to a strong unique user base of over 40 million unique visitors worldwide monthly, the company has solid foundations on which to build its ambitious growth plans.

We have a resilient business model with revenue coming both from advertising around the user-interface and the premium subscription service we offer (WeTransfer Plus).

In early 2015, Highland Capital invested $25 million in WeTransfer to accelerate growth in the US, Europe and beyond. The company has doubled the number of staff over the last 12 months and now employs around 80 people in Amsterdam and has recently built a new team (6 members currently) in Los Angeles. A new CEO joined in January.

The company HQ is based in Amsterdam. The client base ranges from people in the creative industries who need to share large digital files, to individual users who share photos and videos.

Our mission is to enable the effortless transfer of ideas from one creative mind to many. We want to help our users get, and stay, in their creative flow – that strange and beautiful state where everything comes together and great things happen.
