What you’ll be doing
The best way to learn is by doing and we believe in enabling people to try, fail, learn, and try again. This is something we expect the Lead to be great at — empowering and enabling others to take on new responsibilities and challenges, rather than picking up tasks to solve everybody’s problems.
The foundation of your role will be that of a seasoned designer on one of our product teams. Here you will lead by example and inspire others to step up their game, effectively raising the bar for product design at WeTransfer.
From a high-level perspective you will help shape our design vision, and work with product managers and designers to solve the right problems the right way at the right time to be effective as a design team.
You will leverage your prior experience with agile product development to improve our workflow, the collaboration with other disciplines, and our team’s dynamics — allowing the design team to perform well and execute on its vision.
You will guide product designers in their professional growth as a mentor, and use their personal qualities, interests, experience, and the company’s business needs to create personal development plans.
You are naturally committed to create and maintain a safe and inspiring environment where informed creativity thrives. When we’re looking to add new people to the team you’ll coordinate the recruiting process in collaboration with our People Ops Manager.
The Lead role forms a connective tissue between the VP Product Design, the design team, and Leads in related disciplines. Together, our objective is to successfully deliver a coherent, easy-to-use, and delightful set of products that create real value for our users and the business.
